But despitethe fact that hindochawas not that appealing to the eye still those dances where great, i mean chairs all over, cham drinkers falling all over, red eyed bang takers starting fights all over but damn i miss those dances!!!woi and for as chicks the dredded"freshers" and gold rush when our once faithful men left us for fresher meat oncewe had become tired third years. its was a lesson in itself on strategic planning to keep your man, ladiesif you survived that you can with no doubtkeep your huzi's.......yenyewe lastly i miss the sound of the old"blind" guy who used to play his irutu at thestage making you realise how you have reached maseno, the university of excellence YA RIGHT!!!!!107 months agoReplies:Esther says:Mercy,Professor Kasiera was the dean of Religion in Maseno. Remember the CU convert guy who dedicated his life to christ as astrategy to pocket some beauty. When he discovered that he was not getting anywhere he resorted to jump in the armphtheatre dam, but luckily he was restrained. Then there was this friend of mine who could not seduce alady, so he could pay some of the sharpened guys todo the work and after he has prepared the lady in darkness, he pretends to be going for a short call and in the process the jamaa just jumps in and smash the ready made without uttering aword.reallyintersting.maseno has moulded meto be tough71 months agomercy says:there was River Kasiera? was it named after the old dean of i-don't-know-what?72 months agoJoyce says:Louisa let me try bring you to up to speed on like the changes that havetaken place since having observed no one has really answeared you.I start with our good old Mak 2.remember when it was the in thing and like all other people struggled and got strangled to secure a room, well not any more. There came new Mak which Mark you is double .that infact made the normal guys for town campus(tho i still wonder which town )guys infested and this leads me to the lovers lane.I observed keenly and you know all the staff houses eventually became departmntal offices or hostels.Casein point, rmember father Karoli ka office or chaplaincy or was it his digs.Became a hostel too.All this means that guys had more room and poor lovers lane was abandoned. In short by the time wewere leaving it was not in use.And also important to note is dearOnyango went on a tree cutting spree so most kajificheni sites were sent to oblivion. But interesting is also that the ka funny farm route shortcut to Mak from across was made better by the Bridge that was constructed along the River Kasiera. Now this is really important,we observed that there was a reduced lavatory facilities un the academic section of Siriba since prof authorised that most loos be converted to offices.A case in point is the Chemistry depatrment and if not wrong the Creative and performing arts.I have started ad i hope all masenorians of good will will keep you abreast.I did it because i know you were myfellow MAk 2 before i relocated to New Mak72 months agoLouisa says:philip lonely hearts nini72 months agomercy says:sasa ni world war 4...endelea kunitafuta73 months agoPhillip says:heidi dada lo!Kweli hata hapa nakuona!Darubini, nimekupima na pia nimekusoma, nikaona kweli umebeba!73 months agomercy says:the one and only maseno club, any entrpreneurs out there to get annaa place73 months agodenice says:yea, lets talk aboutthe memorable moments.cant forget the time we were leaving matos chips cafe when a mad woman said hi to a group of jamaas and the guys simply ignored her.i loved it when shedescended on one and asked him if he was ashamed of identifying with her."he, ukinitomba ulifiria nini. si hatanilitoka kwa room yako na sweater yako. ndio hii nimevaaa. utakataa?nilikuwa mtamu sasa mimi ni kichaa."infact she was even putting on the jamaas sweater and even his buddys identified it.couldnt believe that the kili guys could stoop that low to lay those mad women who have increased at the main campus.it was a real scene.73 months agoHezzo says:Louisa you must have enjoyed your days in Maseno. Since you can't be a fresher again why don't you consider going back as a lecturer. That is my dream, to go back and lecture at Maseno and I am not far from realising it. My only worry is that things won't be the same as my buddies during my undergraduate and soccer goons will not bethere with me. Nevertheless I am headed therecoz it made me what I am and perhaps more importantly Maseno gave mea great girlfriendfor a wife74 months agoLouisa says:i wish i was a freshar again..... ooooooh74 months agoEMMANUEL says:hey guys dyu remember the greenpark proprietor-cum chef cum waiter.he was nuts,he used to fight with students, slap his wife beforepatrons, fire staff in our presence.ohh!thats how kisii men behave.Kilimanjaro, the best hostel, with showers,water24/7,spacious rooms,pooltables.....wapi SJ,WABOMBA,ELIUD(spectator),SHEM ORINA(jakisii,orudo),.....i missmaseno.74 months agojoe says:hey guys am a first there...n mlikin every lil' bit of life....but it so sorry....a jamaa this timewas killed by a chic from baraton university. e chic gat e jamaa cavortin wit anaa chic inkili and its like she had come prepared 2 murder him. she cut his throat and twazhorrific.....otherwise e place is so cool... environment...love-lane still there louisa....and apart from komredz....therez this City Cabanas cafe....in mabung'o....and Oti's cafe on e other side74 months agoPhillip says:Att LouisaI saw you once along love lane.I stayed once at the flats in my 1st year and wow, that lane.So much has changed now days that people don´t frequent it.Tuseme ukweli hapa.Who was caught doing What.Like that doggy that was witnessed February 2003 at Kili room 33(or close)Who were those?Shoot, usiogope we shall never be together again.Hata kama ni mimi, bora i never meet your ass on the streets anywhere,Africa, asia, anywhere.Viva Kilimanjaro!75 months agoLouisa says:so how is maseno now.... love lane still exists???75 months agoMercie says:oh migosh....my poor sides are aching....if this is wat memories are made of,we need to put this down on paper.Clara...did i hear you say Mak was for saints...not in my days(/03)nah nah nah!that place was wear the worst of the devils themselves lived....wanting a place wea they could camouflage their identity...this is sooo for real...considering the chic who was murdered was from Maks, then that should just give you a tip of the iceburg!80 months agoSteve says:@Irene.. May I say that you belonged to higher aristocraticstanding? When i flash-back i can see you with that buddy of yours-(Rose,The kamkisii chick} Maneouvring yourway past a long queue waiting to be served @ Komredz.I also abandoned Komredz for his competitor neighbour from second year, after getting my full loan by chacha!I have checked all my photos i have of you, and they are mostly TF, thatbeer place next to TF called Maseno Club and several birthday bashes. So i admit i dont have any incriminating evidence!I may say you got off the hook! But for you to have known by great detail the huge chapoz, was your knowledge got thru hearsay or you just passedby Komredz and marvelled at them?98 months agoSam says:Brenda, Look on this screen and just swear that you never neeeeeeeever, eeeeeeeever ate atCOMREDZ and i will come back with some verrry incriminating evidence. You stayed in Makerere 90% of ya Uni life and it isvery unlikely that you went hungry on most days when "walking across" and revising for a CAT mattered! In any case Comredz was like one of the best restaurants around Equator Hostels, their Chapoz notwithstanding!!!!!!!!!!Now go ahead andswear!98 months agoSam says:JANET:If am not too old, that place was called"KOMREDZ". i do not know if its name changed.went there everyday i had a lunch class. Served big Chapozand flooded Ndenguz!I never knew gals also rate themselves usind The Nairobi-Shagzdivide! Now i know better! As a matter of fact, pple who came from Western Province were disadvantaged. The reason was that a gal/boy whocame from a Nyerior coastal village would boast ofhaving crossed Nairobi, and in theprocess he/she would have acquired the city's affluence and ujuaji even if through osmosis or EldoretExpressiosis!I particularly admired galz who grew up in Nairobi. They knew how to dress, but most important, they knew how to speak expressive English! In my firstLiterature class, one gal stood up to argue about therelevance of Kenyan literature in Africa. I felt she was over-praising Kenyan authors and threw in a remark whether she found favor with Kenyan writers simply because most of them came from acertain mountainous region, like she did too. So my question was simple and cheeky: Are u arguing for kinmanship or for the sake of the pen?She was piqued and came down on me, literary, " Hello, whatev'r! I don give a hake abt whatcha think!Halooooo!"It is only when Oprah Winfrey started showing on KBC that i discovered 90% ofthe words that sheused on me were from Oprah show, particularly when Oprah is putting off sex offenders! (OPRAH show had premiered on KTN) thus we fromthe Bunduz would not get this classified show!KTN was only found in Nairobi, so i hatedmyself for not having been in theloop!99 months agoDavid says:Att: ClaraWith or without EQ bado tutakunywa. siku hizi it's Ujamaa and Ghotto shop. they'll never fikia EQ but they still serve the purpose99 months agomakerere was not just for the saints. i lived there but ona slightly differnt note. A guy from kili wd only go to sunrise akishamada, aendeeq. to organize for the drinking spree if really neccessary- makerere sa ngapi?so ladies were kinda safe thereinfact the love lanewas for the waywad makerere ladies who cd not have guts to stay in the room with their guys.....cozzzzzzzzzzthe washamba wd stare and maybe summonizeyou on a good sunday morningguyz from Eq who ever came to maks, came with the excuse of discussing .Anyway makerere was a very boring suite. dont let yoursisters or daughters stay there.99 months agokaded says:wuz crazy fun can'ttrade the memories 4 a mil. bucks n can do it again again but wegotta move on100 months agoJohnny says:Guyz, I have the (Maseno Murder)photos if you want to see them just click that mouse...105 months agoSam says:Attn Louisa!Go to The Sunday Starndard of 28th Aug in the Weekend Profile Page 10. The kajamaa was sortabuddy of mine too, so i have to protect his name mpaka cheeee!Lakini that storo was too hot, it rejuvenated our damp spirits, having just come from a STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!106 months agoSam says:Clara! Those saints of makererefound angels in Emabungo and Equators!!!!!!!!!!106 months agoSam says:Rose:A gal was murdered recentlyin Kilimanjaro hostels by her lover who had trailed her from home (Since she was not in session) She had borrowed from him some cash to go check out her exam results, He was a little too cleaver for her. Hehired an investigator who monitored her amorous activitiesand pounced on her just when the boyfriend had gone out to buy something! then stabbed her to death, IMAGINE!!!!!!!!!!Bwana it was on CNN, how could u have missed it!106 months agoRose says:oooh my poor sides, i have laughed till i cant any more...didnt think it got any worse than it was during our times in the 90's...yeah killi was a really koinange street...good to read all about the mishaps that waylaid us then....never heard about the murder though..whatever happened Sam?106 months agoSam says:Eh, Louisa! You have captured the moment!!!!If i were R. Kelly I would sing IF I COULD TURN BACK THE HAND OF TYM!!!The Love lane to Makerere was where love was fought, won and lost. Many a tymzsi stumbled on two sweaty young hot-blooded teensgroaning in the dark and thighs parting and closing and an eerie noise being emitted by both parties with each parting!I also encounteredmany lovers gone different ways as adisgusted boy/gal would look for an opportune moment to issue awell timed BOOT on this lane tellinghis/her hapless victim the Oprah reality that went like " Pliz considerthis relationship over", despite numerous pleadings!!!! Such scenes remind meof a DVD machine, you enjoy a movie, but on pressing some button it yells at you: THIS BUTTON IS NOT USABLE NOW!!! Maybe the gal might be saying : These thighs are not partable now! Then there was a myth from the Exam department that an inebriated lecturer, hooking up with his student lover, would go to Lwanda, imbibe the solomon waters and book alodging for her. Atthis time, he remembers that he had some exam to mark, so he quickly designsa sterategic manoeuvre in education planning to both have the gal and keep his job. With the help of the gal,he draws 4 boxes on the ground andlebels them A, B, Cand D. He then starts taking the exam papers fromhis kiondo and throws them very high in the air. Those that land in Box A are given marks to the range of 80% and the Ds get 30%!!!You can guess where the girlfriend's falls!About Freshers and the Gold Rush: I stayed in Kilimanjaro and i can tell you from ahigh Pedestal that only a first hand witness and a one time partaker enjoys! This war was wholly fought, won or lost at The Maseno Red Light District otherwise called the KILIMANJARO FLATS!!It is not therefore a wonder that a nobody watchmanrecently travelled from Naivasha, wailaid his lover who was cheating on him, found her in KILIMANJARO HOSTELS sipping Tusker, listening to Celine, ready for a sexual encounter as she waited for the Boyfy who had dashed outside to buy a packet of chips and most probably another pack of TRUST condoms then Butchered her there!! Kilimanjarois a real Koinange bwana!Ranging from infidelity to gal fights, Kilimanjaroruled! As a fouth year, i witnessed what (until the recent murder in the hostel) had become the classic unrivalled reputation of a sex-house.Freshers had come and there was this third yeartaking COMPUTER SCIENCE who had had his very long-lasting galfriend who washis year-mate. Thegal was depressedthat the guy was not even communicating properly with her of late. But the reason was there for all to see: FReshers had come!!! She caushad for some time, but then oneevening at about 8:30 pm decided to pay him an impromptu visit, maybe to engage in the obvious! She found her very guy entangled with a curvacious, bootilicious Fresher making love but had forgotten to lock the door. The Girl fist fought and theuproar experienced still remains as the most interesting i have yet seen. A bite here, a yell there, a miss kick there! The Fresheramorous gal was no match for her experienced mate so she was forced to flee to SUNRISE wholly naked!!!!
